Abstract :
The design and validation of smart wheelchairs represent a critical step toward enhancing mobility and independence for individuals with disabilities. In contemporary society, disability, particularly among younger populations, remains a major challenge, underscoring the importance of advanced assistive technologies. Since transportation play a central role in a paralayzed daily life, developing intelligent systems that integrate clinical functionality, ergonomic considerations, and user-centered design can significantly improve efficiency and quality of care. Moreover, addressing the needs of both young and elderly users requires a multidisciplinary approach that leverages emerging technologies to ensure adaptability and inclusivity. This study presents the development of an electric wheelchair enhanced with artificial intelligence, focusing on its design principles, ergonomic features, and fundamental mechanisms. The proposed system aims to promote greater autonomy and improve the overall user experience.
