Contrastive analysis of measure words in Persian and Kurdish(Sorani, Kalhori) and its pedagogical applications in teaching Persian to the speakers of other languages (TPSOL)

Abstract :
To improve the position of contrastive linguistics in analyzing similarities and differences of two or more languages, an organized program and extra investigation is required. To compare Persian language to other languages. Recently, there are many jobs accomplished which are concerned with contrastive analysis in different fields, such as: grammar, phonology, discourse, lexicon and even, contrastive analysis of two texts of two languages. In this study, the objective was to show Persian, Kordish measure words (Length, Width, Depth, Thickness, and Height) and their respective adjectives and also to consider the similarities and differences of the two languages (Persian, Kurdish). The analysis showed that there are differences among measure words in Persian and Kurdish. These differences might create some problems for the learners of Persian language who are learning this language as a foreign or second language.
