Abstract :
The aim of this investigation is to study removal of trace aniline (AN) , using ozone and catalyst alone, an well as, coupled with sonolysis technique . The effect of key parameters such as pH was studied at three chemical conditions of alkaline, acidic and neutral with values of 9, 3 and 7.0 respectively. Moreover, TiO2 was used as catalyst with ozone and sonolysis or their combinations. The experimental data were obtained in the presence of 0.012 and 0.007 grams of nanoparticle of dioxide titanium. A maximum rate of degradation was observed in the case of ozone only in neutral chemical conditions. By increasing the amount of added TiO2 from 0.007 gr to 0.012 gr, the degree of deterioration increased from 6.5% to 73% respectively. This is showing the fact that even the presence of catalyst lowered the efficiency of removal by around 10% compared with that of 85% of ozonation alone. The rate of degradations were determined using a spectrophotometric technique.
