Abstract :
Introduction: The aim of the present research is to identify the cultural and social challenges of women's presence in sports venues based on an exploratory mixed-methods approach.
Methods: The method, considering the nature of the subject and the research objectives, was mixed (qualitative-quantitative), with a qualitative approach based on phenomenology using the Glaser method and a quantitative descriptive correlational design. The research environment for the qualitative part included sports and cultural elites and specialists in the field. In the quantitative section, 384 individuals, both women and men who were willing to attend sports venues, were selected.
Results: The challenges of women's presence in sports venues are influenced by cultural challenges (cultural infrastructure 0.766, religious and societal norms 0.561, social culture 0.630), social challenges (social considerations 0.566, ethical considerations 0.639, security considerations 0.580, managerial considerations 0.490, infrastructural considerations 0.496), moderating factors (human resource empowerment 0.491, supervisory measures 0.637, executive requirements 0.505), strategies (knowledge enhancement 0.369, education 0.732, cultural groundwork 0.647, facilitative facilities and investment 0.534, communication management 0.411, improvement of infrastructural conditions 0.380, managerial actions 0.351), and consequences (positive consequences 0.743, negative consequences 0.590). All obtained coefficients were positive and significant, and the final model showed adequate fit.
Conclusion: Considering the results, to reduce the challenges of women's entry into sports venues, emphasis should be placed on education, along with cultural groundwork, allocation of facilities, and improvement of cultural infrastructures in society, alongside increasing public awareness
