The role of professional ethics on the self-efficacy and performance of the coaches of basic volleyball teams

Abstract :
Objective: This research was conducted with the aim of investigating the role of professional ethics on the self-efficacy and performance of the coaches of elementary volleyball teams in Isfahan province.
Methodology: This study is a quantitative research that was implemented using the correlation method. To collect data, three professional ethics questionnaires of Eidi et al. (2016), coaching self-efficacy questionnaire by Myers et al. (2008) and Hersey and Goldsmith's performance questionnaire (1980-2008) were used to collect data. The statistical population of the research included all coaches active in volleyball training in Isfahan province. The number of volleyball coaches in Isfahan province in 2024 is 800. The research sample was selected from among the research community by simple random sampling. Out of 266 questionnaires sent, 248 questionnaires were returned.
ResultsThe findings showed that the state of professional ethics and self-efficacy of the coaches of basic volleyball teams in Isfahan province is favorable. Professional ethics has a significant and positive effect on the self-efficacy and performance of the coaches of the basic volleyball teams, and the existence of a significant and positive effect of the professional ethics on the performance was confirmed with the mediating role of self-efficacy in the coaches of the basic volleyball teams.
Conclusion: Professional ethics has a positive and significant role on performance with the mediating role of self-efficacy in the coaches of basic volleyball teams.
