Abstract :
Good urban governance is crucial for the sustainable development of cities, ensuring efficient management and responsiveness to citizens' needs. This study evaluates key governance indicators, including participation, transparency, accountability, efficiency, equity, and responsibility, to assess their implementation in the ten districts of Karaj. Using a survey-based and library research approach, the data were collected through questionnaires distributed among citizens and experts. Statistical analysis via SPSS revealed that Karaj's urban districts exhibit significant weaknesses in governance performance, with disparities observed among different respondent groups. The findings indicate that the city's rapid growth necessitates improved management strategies and a more dynamic governance system to enhance urban sustainability.
