The effectiveness of assertiveness skills on the self-esteem and quality of life of ABUSED WOMEN in Yazd

Abstract :
have problems with self-esteem and reduced quality of life. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of assertiveness skills on the self-esteem and quality of life of abused women women in Yazd. The research design was quasi-experimental with pre-test-post-test and control group a control group. The statistical population of this study included all 89 in Yazd in 2019. 30 female victims were randomly selected as a sample and randomly divided into experimental and control groups (15 people in each group). assertiveness techniques sessions were performed in 8 sessions of 60 minutes for them. But the control group did not receive any intervention. The research instruments included the Self-Esteem (Cooper Smith, 1967) and the Quality-of-Life Questionnaire (WHO, 1996). SPSS 21 software and analysis of covariance were used to analyze the data. The results showed that training in assertiveness techniques can increase self-esteem and quality of life (P <0.001). According to the obtained results, assertive skills can be used to increase the self-esteem and quality of life of injured women.
