Abstract :
The present research investigated the effects of emotional intelligence components on the orientation and aggression of young athlete's. This research design was semi-experimental with pretest-posttest. 40 young athletes were selected and randomly assigned in two groups with 20 experimental and 20 controls people. Emotional intelligence program was conducted for 12 weeks on athletes. Results showed that emotional intelligence training had significant effect in decreasing of aggression. In addition, results showed that emotional intelligence training had significant effect on sport orientation and increased it. Therefore, the use of emotional intelligence training is an effective factor on the reduction of aggression, and also an important factor in increasing of athlete’s sport orientation.
