The present study is dealt with study of relation between depression and attitude towards drug abuse in Rasht high school students. In order to this 201 boys & girls students from first to third grades were selected based on a cluster random sampling and then were tested. The method of study has been correlation and the measuring tools of beck depression questionnaire are a researcher – made questionnaire and the other one is drug abuse. The aim of present study is to determine the relation between depression and drug abuse considering sex variable and educational grades. Findings of this study have been analyzed according to descriptive statistics (mean & standard deviation) and inferential statistics (student t – test correlation coefficient & a two way analysis of variance). The results showed that in spite of considering educational grade, depression scores and attitudes toward addiction in boys and girls are different. In other words, the boys have more positive and meaningful attitude towards addiction in comparison with girls. There is also a positive and meaningful relation between high depression and positive attitude towards addiction. That is the more depression, the more positive attitude towards addiction (r= 38%) mean while, the simultaneous relation of two former variables between sex and educational grade with depression has been considered as a positive and meaningful variable, that is; male sex shows decreasing rate of depression, as they improve from first grade to third grade and on the contrary female Sex shows increasing rate of depression as they go from first grade to third grade .The results showed that simultaneous relation of two former variables between sex and educational grade with positive attitude towards addiction has been considered as a meaningful and positive dependent variable. In other words, male sex's attitude towards addiction becomes more negative as education grade increases form first grade to third grade and on the contrary, female sex's attitude with lower educational grade becomes more positive.
