The relation between spiritual wellbeing, life satisfaction and academic achievement in girl and boy university students

Abstract :
The aim of present research was to study the relation between spiritual well being, life satisfaction and academic achievement in girl and boy university students. The research method was descriptive - correlational. The entire population of this study consisted of students of Islamic Azad University of Karaj 1388-89 were enrolled in the academic year. Participants were 500 students of Islamic Azad University Karaj Branch who were selected by multiple stage cluster sampling method. Instruments of this study were spiritual well being and life satisfaction questionnaires. The data were analyzed by correlation coefficient, regression analysis and independent t test. The results showed that there is a significant positive relation between spiritual well being and its components with life satisfaction. Also there is a significant positive relation between spiritual well being and academic achievement. The results of regression analysis showed that the Existential well being has more important and more significant role in prediction of life satisfaction and complains 42 presents of variance of life satisfaction. It’s not observed significant difference between girls and boys’ scores of spiritual well being and life satisfaction. Generally, the findings indicated the important role of Existential well being in life satisfaction. These results can be beneficial in planning for university students.
