Investigating the Effectiveness of Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT) on the Child's Attitude towards the Mother and Happiness in Single-Parent (Mother) Adolescents

Abstract :
Purpose: The purpose of this research is to investigate the effectiveness of attachment-based family therapy (ABFT) on the child's attitude towards the mother and happiness in single-parent (mother) adolescents. Method: It was a semi-experimental research of pre-test-post-test type and with control group. The statistical population of the present study was all single parent (mother) teenagers who referred to the clinics of Isfahan city in 1401. The sampling method was available, and 30 samples were randomly assigned to two experimental groups (15) and control group (15). The tools used in this research were Hodson's Child Attitude Scale (1985) and Oxford Happiness Scale (1989). Teenagers in the experimental group were trained in 10 sessions of 60 minutes. In this research, in order to analyze the obtained data, based on descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation) and inferential statistics (inferential statistics (covariance), SPSS software was used. Findings: The data analysis showed that In the post-test stage, there is a significant difference between the average score of happiness in the two groups (P=0.001; F=0.870). Also, there was a significant difference in the score of the child's attitude towards the mother and its dimensions in the two groups. (P=0.001; F=0.620). Conclusion: Therefore, it can be concluded that with attachment-based family therapy (ABFT), the child's attitude towards the mother and happiness in single-parent teenagers (mother ) improved.
