Comparison of perceived social support, hope and academic achievement between the students living in Imam Khomeini relief foundation dormitories and the welfare organization homes of parentless and unsupervised children in West Azerbaijan

Abstract :
The aim this research is a comparative study of perceived social support, hope and academic achievement between the students living in Imam Khomeini relief foundation dormitories and the welfare organization homes of parent less and unsupervised children in West Azerbaijan province. Research method was descriptive survey and the research community statistic were included all girl and boy students in high school living in Imam Khomeini relief foundations dormitories in the west Azerbaijan province. The sampling method due to statistic population restrict was census. In this research were used to gathering information from the multidimensional perceived social support scale (MSPSS) Zimet and colleagues (1988) , the Snyder hope questionnaire (1991) and the student academic records at the end of the semester. The results of multivariate analysis of one- way showed there are significant difference between these two groups in perceived social support, hope and academic achievement. So that students living in welfare organization homes of parent less and unsupervised have good social support perceived than Imam Khomeini relief foundation dormitories student. But, hope the students covered by the Relief Committee are for significantly more than students under welfare organization. Also the independent t-test results showed that academic achievement students living in Imam Khomeini relief foundations dormitories is Significantly higher than students living in welfare organizations home of parent less and unsupervised children
