The Effectiveness of Positive Thinking Education on Self-efficacy, Resilience and Academic Performance of Secondary Second Grade Students in Kermanshah

Abstract :
The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of positive thinking on self-efficacy, resilience and academic performance of second-grade high school students in Kermanshah. The research is a pre-test and post-test semi experimental with control group. The statistical population of the study included all female secondary school students in Kermanshah city. In order to select subjects, a sample of 40 people was selected using cluster sampling. Twenty in the experimental group and 20 in the control group were randomly assigned. For both groups, a pretest was performed. The experimental group received positive training during eight sessions and each session for two hours. At the end of the training period, a post-test was used. To collect data, two questionnaires were used: A: Scherer's self-efficacy: Conner and Davidson's resilience. Descriptive statistics (frequency and mean) and inferential statistics (variance and variance of variance) were used to analyze the data. The results of the research showed that positive thinking has a positive effect on students' self-efficacy. Positive thinking has a positive effect on increasing the resilience and academic performance of students. Positive thinking has a positive effect on students' academic performance. In sum, positive thinking has caused self-efficacy, resilience and academic performance of students.
