Abstract :
Religious Revivalist, are a group of intellectuals who have sought a philosophical explanation of Modernity principles and their relevant with tradition, especially religious ideas. One of the issues raised in this context is the quiddity and how religious education. Abu zayd believes to the objectivity of ethics and values and respect the principles of monotheism-freedom of reason from the myths and illusions and avoid of dogmatism- and justice in his opinion. Because of his view, the principle of monotheism, prevent the entry of religious education to indoctrination and brainwashing. And the principle of justice is considered as a principle, precedence over religion. He believes that adherence to tradition is the decline. Past tradition turns into a mental memory of people, and becomes absolute and therefore, can block human cognition and causing the crisis. Rationality, freedom and justice are the goals of religious education from the Abu zayd‘s perspective. Rationality will prevent the ignorance and brainwashing. - Inaction against the emotion power- and freedom prevent slavery, and justice prevent injustice. His views of religious education should be based on individual free will. In his view superficiality in understanding the verses is religious pest. He emphasizes on goal oriented Islam instead of religious text. Because religious text can be convert to idolatry.
