Abstract :
Background and objective: Technological advances in the workplace, despite facilitating access and efficiency, have created contradictory effects by increasing interruptions and unpredictability. In this regard, the present study was conducted with the aim of determining the relationship between the usefulness and ease of use of information management system on innovative work behavior with the mediating role of job engagement and moderating job generations in the public sector. Method: The design of the present research is descriptive and correlational in the structural equation modeling method. The statistical population of the research includes the employees of the central branch of the Social Security Organization in Tehran, who deal with the information management system, which are 800 people. The sample size was determined by Cochran's formula, 260 people were selected by simple random sampling method. The research data collection tool was a standard questionnaire whose validity was confirmed based on face validity and Cronbach's alpha reliability. The data were analyzed using the structural equation modeling method with SmartPLS software. Findings: The findings show a significant effect of the usefulness of information management system on innovative work behavior (p < 0.01), but the effect of ease of use on innovative work behavior was not confirmed. Also, the significant effect of usefulness and ease of use of information management system on innovative behavior was confirmed with the mediating role of employee engagement. Finally, the findings show the confirmation of the moderating role of work generations only in the relationship between job engagement and innovative work behavior. Conclusion: The results of this research can clarify the results of using information management systems to managers of public sector organizations in making timely and effective decisions regarding workplace technologies and achieving innovation in the organization.
