Abstract :
Music is one of the fundamental elements of poetry, and it is essential to be familiar with its rhythmic patterns to critique poetry. The integration of words, vocal and phonetic harmony, language structure, coherence, and continuity of consonants and vowels distinguish artistic speech from everyday language. Among the periods of Arabic literature, the Abbasid era is known as the golden age of Arabic eloquence and literary excellence. Among the poets of this era, Ibn Mu'taz is recognized as a prominent and distinguished poet. In this regard, the present research aims to discover the musical effects in Ibn Mu'taz's poems and their connection to the intended meaning of the poet. Using a descriptive-analytical approach, the study examines the four layers of music: "external music or poetic meter, internal music, spiritual music, and parallel music or rhyme." It focuses on the fourth layer of this collection and its relationship with the prominent themes in Ibn Mu'taz's poems concerning pride, love, nature description, wine, wisdom, asceticism, elegy, and satire. The study explores the techniques employed in Ibn Mu'taz's poems and uncovers the flaws in rhyme and their impact on the rhythm of verses, creating disharmony in the poetic meter. Ultimately, it concludes that Ibn Mu'taz skillfully incorporates many phonetic elements into the structure of his verses, creating a harmonious and cohesive rhythm in addition to the alignment of word and meaning. This integration is evident in the themes of pride, love, nature description, wine, hunting poems, asceticism, wisdom, elegy, and satire...
