Providing model of job engagement based on personality characteristics with mediating social and organizational supports in schools of Tehran city

Abstract :
The aim of this research was providing model of job engagement based on personality characteristics with mediating social and organizational supports. This study in terms of purpose was applied and in terms of methodology was descriptive-correlational. The statistical population of research consisted of all schools counselors in Tehran city during the academic years of 2017-18 with number of 851 people. To select sample 450 people were selected by stratified random sampling method. The research tools were the questionnaires of job engagement (Edwards & Kilpatrick, 1987), revised personality characteristics (Costa & McCrea, 1992), social support (Zimet & et al, 1988) and organizational support (Tsai & et al, 2015). Data after collection were analyzed by structural equation modeling method from type of path analysis in SPSS-24 and LISREL Software. The findings showed that personality characteristics explained 33 percent, social and organizational supports explained 38 percent and all variables explained 41 percent of job engagement changes in schools counselors and the variables of social and organizational supports was a good mediated between the personality characteristics and job engagement (P
