Abstract :
This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of social skills training through teaching - learning strategy of concept mapping on social anxiety of high school female students in the city of Ahvaz. The research method is experimental with pretest posttest study design and follow-up. The study population consisted of all the high School Female Students, to choose them by multistage cluster sampling method 40 patients were selected and randomly divided into experimental and control groups respectively. The instrument used in this research is the Watson and Friend Social anxiety questionnaire (1969). In this research after the pretest intervention began, and during 10 training sessions on social skills through teaching - learning strategy of concept mapping was carried out for this participants and then follow-up was performed after one month. For analyzing data, the analysis method of covariance (MANCOVA) was used. The results of data analysis showed that social skills training can reduce social anxiety in adolescent girls in the experimental group compared with the control ..
