Abstract :
Abstract Semantics, rhetoric, literature, interpretation and philology are among the sciences to which the Muslims had a great attention for a long time and they had many works in this field. One of the literary men who had great services to the Islamic sciences was Abu Obaydah, the author of the book “Majaz-al-Qoran”. The following article provides a brief overview of Abu Obaydah’s life and literature as well as the scholars’ view around image in the Quran and the motive of compilation of the “Majaz-al-Qoran”, and it aims to introduce Abu Obaydah’s style in this book. By reading this article, you will know that is the image intended by Abu Obaydah isn’t a truth subdivision, but that is what leads us to understand the Koranic words and its vocabulary, as the his intended image isn’t the image that is used today; And he has called the ways the Qur'an uses to its expressions and interpretations, and he has considered the secondary meanings of the Quran’s terms and compositions as images.
