Levels of Health Development Indicators (Case Study: Fars Province)

Abstract :
Improving the health sector indicators and developing the equipment and facilities of this sector, as well as balanced distribution of health facilities in all regions (quality of access to health services), is one of the foregrounds for achieving development of regions and Lack of proper access to these facilities imposes many costs on a part of the community, even in the form of the costs of destabilizing and falling into poverty. Accordingly, this paper is an attempt to examine the status of development of regions based of health factors. The methodology of this study is descriptive-analytical and using of multi-criteria decision making (MCDM) techniques like combined methods of TOPSIS, AHP and Cluster Analysis. This study aims to examine how such a distributed development is conducted in the province. Among the indicators of development, infrastructure and health facilities opted to investigate the distribution and development of province-level city (14 elected counties in Fars province) is compared. The results showed that: The counties of Fars province classified in 3 groups of developed (Shiraz), developing (Marvdasht, Kazeroon, Safa, Jahrom, Darab), deprived (others) and there is a level of deprivation in the province in terms of health status indicators, and spatial distribution, so that the city of Shiraz, as the political center of the province, is developed most, is a relatively large difference between the development index and other cities.
