Evaluating the Performance of the Cultural Management of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Field of Intangible Cultural Heritage

Abstract :
The aim of this study was to evaluate the tenyear record of cultural management in the field of ICH in the Iran. The method of the present research is quantitative and based on the questionnaire. The questionnaire is designed based on the ORF of the 2003 Convention, the result of a collective consultation process, approved by the GA , The statistical population of this study includes the Deputy Minister of ICHHTO and provincial , research institutes, departments and governmental and NGOs , the academic association. Due to the limitations of the statistical population, the whole number method has been used to select members of the community. The questionnaires given by 26 members of the statistical community of managers and officials and 42 members of the academic community, freelancers and NGOs. The results obtained from the current situation of cultural management performance in the field of ICH in Iran indicate the two indicators of inventory and research and legal policies and measures are in a good position. In contrast, other performance indicators, including human and organizational capacity, transfer, and training, indicate a somewhat favorable situation. Also, based on the obtained results, the total performance index indicates a somewhat favorable situation of the performance of cultural management in the field of ICH in the Iran. Based on the results, all indicators related to the current situation of cultural management performance in Iran are far from the average of the desired situation.Keywords: Cultural Management, Intangible Cultural Heritage, 2003 Convention, UNESCO.
