Explaining and Prioritizing the Roles of Government in promoting corporate social responsibility through Public Policies

Abstract :
Background and Purpose: The efforts of organizations to meet the expectations of their key stakeholders will promote their sustainable productivity and provide the benefits of society. Among the various factors that can contribute to the promotion of corporate social responsibility, in this research, the role played by the government through public policies in this field has been discussed.Method: This applied research was done with a quantitative method. For this purpose, the importance and priority of the various roles of the government in this field have been ranked in the form of four main types of public policy. The data has been collected by surveying experts using a questionnaire and analyzed using the best-worst decision-making method. Findings: the prevalence and effectiveness of these various government roles, as well as the effectiveness of the four main types of public policy (regulatory, facilitating, partnership and approval policies) are different but can be confirmed. Conclusion: public organizations in charge of and related to this field can use these four types of public policies to improve the willingness and commitment of organizations to fulfill their corporate social responsibilities.
