Objective: This study seeks to provide an appropriate model for achieving sustainable development, as well as identifying the factors affecting sustainable development with the approach of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Methods:In this study, we tried to identify and categorize the obstacles to sustainable development as well as the opportunities of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 in order to create sustainable development by examining the literature and the opinion of experts during the Delphi technique. Then, the interpretive structural modeling approach was used to level and determine the relationships between stability barriers. In the next step, the opportunities of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 were ranked by the fuzzy AHP method. Findings: In the proposed model of this study, barriers to sustainability in five dimensions of economic, social, environmental, technical and political and opportunities of the fourth industrial revolution in five dimensions of technology and information, environmental, managerial and economic, social and organizational and supply chain management were extracted. Conclusion:The results of this study showed that political, technical and economic barriers have the greatest impact on sustainability and sustainable development in industry, respectivelyand environmental and social dimensions have the greatest impact on political and technical barriers, respectively. Alsoamong the opportunities of the Industrial Revolution 4.0the information and technological opportunities of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 have the highest rank and the supply chain management has the lowest rank.
