Abstract :

The value and position of science in the progress, authority and dignity of governments is not hidden from anyone, and the revelation of the first verses of the Quran regarding the study of knowledge shows the importance of knowledge in life. Science and knowledge are related to all aspects of life, and scientific excellence and movement within the boundaries of knowledge are the cause of greater power and dignity. In Nahj al-Balagha, knowledge is considered one of the factors of dignity and authority. The aim of the present study, which was conducted in a descriptive-analytical manner and with a library method, is to examine the effect and role of science with emphasis on the Hadith “Al-Ilm al-Sultan” on the dignity and authority of the government from the perspective of Nahj al-Balagha. The results show that science and knowledge are the fundamental foundations and principles of the dignity and authority of the government, and in Nahj al-Balagha, Imam Ali (AS) considers knowledge and awareness as the factor of victory over the enemy, science as a tool of power, and the government as capable in the military, political, economic, cultural, and social fields, in the light of science and knowledge, to thereby maintain and enhance its dignity and authority.
