A descriptive and comparative study of adverb construction in Kurdish (Sorani and Kurmanji) and English.

Abstract :
In this survey the simple and compound adverbs in two dialects of Kurdish language (Sorani and Kurmanji) have been compared and then the results have been compared with English examples. At first the structure of simple and compound English adverbs were studied and then the two dialects of Sorani and Kurmanji were compared with each other and comparatively with English adverbs.
According to difficulty gradation, three levels have caused problems for Kurdish language learners including: reinterpretation, overgeneralization and recognition. So awareness of similarities will facilitate learning language for Kurdish learners (positive transfer). By surveying and analyzing mentioned languages and dialects we would determine four principles of language learning for Kurdish learners, including: selection (what is taught), gradation (when is taught), comparative teaching (program and course units) and examination (testing what is learned).ezvani, Payman.
