The Impact of Information and Communication Technology on Open Innovation with the Mediating Role of Enterprise Architecture (Case Study: National Standards Organization of Iran)

Abstract :

This research examines the impact of information and communication technology (ICT) on open innovation, with the mediating role of organizational architecture. To achieve this goal, a theoretical framework has been developed based on the study and analysis of previous research findings. This study is applied in nature and has been conducted using a descriptive-survey method for data collection. The statistical population of this research includes 500 employees of the National Standard Organization of Iran, from which 217 individuals were selected as a sample using Cochran’s formula. Data was collected through a questionnaire, and its validity was confirmed using confirmatory factor analysis, while reliability was established through Cronbach’s alpha and composite reliability methods. To analyze the dimensions of the conceptual framework, confirmatory factor analysis was employed, and structural equation modeling (Smart PLS) was used to examine the relationships among the dimensions of the research framework. The findings indicate that technology typology affects open innovation, technology readiness level impacts open innovation, technology development strategies influence open innovation, and furthermore, technology typology, technology readiness level, and technology development strategies all affect organizational architecture. Therefore, the results demonstrate that information and communication technology has a direct and significant impact on open innovation with the mediating role of organizational architecture in the National Standard Organization of Iran.
