Abstract :
An elegy is a poem written in mourning for the deceased, expressing condolences to relatives and friends, expressing regret over the death of kings, elders, and leaders of the people, and mentioning the sufferings of religious leaders. Most poets in various languages have had experiences with this type of poetry. In Kurdish literature, the elegy of Mastoora Ardalan (1264-1220 AH) for her husband Khosrow Khan Nakam is very famous. In these elegies, he uses the most passionate and emotional concepts in his elegy for his wife. On the other hand, Ahmad Beg Kumasi (1295-1212 AH), a contemporary of Mastoora, also wrote a poignant elegy in the elegy of a faithful lady. These elegies, written in the Kurdish language of Hawrami and spoken by two poets, male and female, have to some extent manifested the feminine ego of Mastoura and the masculine feelings of Ahmad Beg Kumasi. In this article, which is conducted with a descriptive-analytical method using library resources, the author, while introducing these elegies, intends to address the style and expression of the two poets from a rhetorical perspective and to compare them with each other in terms of poetic images, the involvement of gender in artistic structures, and the incendiary content contained in them.
