Abstract :
The mystical view of artistic creation as a purposeful actuality is one of the main characteristics of Iranian artists. Although the geometry of Iranian architecture and its connection with mystical concepts are clearly visible among us Iranians, especially in authentic Iranian buildings, but these concepts are challenging topics for Western researchers and theorists and remain unknown to them. In this article, we have investigated and searched for a suitable way to introduce the meanings that are claimed to be manifested in Iranian architectural forms, and we will advance the audience step by step in our reasoning path. Based on this method, first, some views about the relationship between meaning and form are expressed and then, on the basis of historical evidence and scientific reasons, we examine the elements of traditional Iranian architecture that are specifically used in the architecture of mosques as the basis of Iranian wisdom and Islamic mysticism. Finally, the mystical and legal concepts are introduced in the existing elements and contexts, and the meanings along with the analysis are expressed using the images themselves.
