Abstract :

Abstract The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of psychological empowerment on the meaning of life and burnout in female nurses. The present study is applied in terms of purpose and method, and is of a quasi-experimental type with a pre-test-post-test design with a control group. The statistical population of the study included female nurses in Abhar County, numbering 250, of whom 30 were selected as samples by simple random sampling and were randomly assigned to two experimental groups (15 people) and control groups (15 people). The experimental group underwent psychological empowerment training for 8 sessions, while the control group did not receive training during this period. The data collection tools in the present study included the Meaning of Life Questionnaire (2010) and the Burnout Questionnaire by Maslash and Jackson (1981). The samples answered this questionnaire before and after the training. The data obtained were analyzed by analysis of covariance. The findings showed that the psychological empowerment course was effective on the meaning of life and burnout. Based on the results of the study, psychological empowerment therapeutic intervention can be used to treat meaning in life and burnout.
