Investigating the share of sports expenses in managing the spending portfolio of students' families in Doroud city

Abstract :

The aim of this study was to investigate the share of sports expenses in the management of the spending portfolio of students' families in Doroud city. The present study is applied in terms of its purpose and is a descriptive-survey research. The study population was all households of students studying in the year 1402-1403, from which 200 households were selected using simple random sampling. A researcher-made questionnaire consisting of 26 questions and 5 components was used to collect data: number of family members, monthly family income, share of monthly sports expenses, student participation in sports activities, and family satisfaction with sports expenses. SPSS software was used to analyze the research data at two descriptive and inferential levels. The results of the analysis of the indicators showed that the average monthly income of each family was about 150 million  Rial, of which 7 percent was the share of family sports expenses. At the level of inferential statistics, the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test first confirmed the normality of the data, and then Pearson correlation coefficient and regression analysis were used to examine the research hypotheses. The research findings showed that family income has a significant direct effect on the share of sports expenses. The number of family members also has a significant direct effect on the share of sports expenses of each family. In addition, family income has a significant direct effect on the level of participation and variety of sports activities and the level of satisfaction with sports expenses.
