Suffering and Calamity in Mystical Literature with a Brief Look at Rabia Adaviyyah Based on the Report of “Fawa’id al-Salekin”

Abstract :

In the correction of manuscripts, in addition to examining and adjusting the edited form of the work, it is also important and necessary to study the lower levels of the manuscript, that is, the content of the work. In this study, which mainly focuses on mystical and literary criticism and study of the manuscript and its content; after introducing the manuscript of “Fawa’id al-Salekin” and introducing it, we examined other levels of the work and, while introducing Rabia Adaviyyah, we examined her approach to facing suffering and calamity as reflected in “Fawa’id al-Salekin”. In Iranian mysticism, the issue of confronting calamities and suffering has been of great interest to mystics, and there are various approaches to it that have been less studied. Rabia, as one of the most influential Muslim mystics, has extensive thoughts and opinions in this field that are worthy of examination and comparison with other mystics. The issue discussed in this research is how disasters and suffering in the world can be analyzed from a mystical and ontological perspective and what is the difference between Rabia's approach and other mystics.
