Abstract :
Behavioral patterns need to adapt to the changing environment due to the altered spatial patterns caused by the evolving social level within households. As the socio-cultural level of a household changes, so too does the method of communication with surrounding individuals, spatial requirements, spatial composition, the introduction of new residents to the household, and spatial needs. Correspondingly, the type of attachment to a place in individuals will change over time. Based on this premise, the research aims to classify the qualitative components of residential spaces with medium density in Tehran, extract the qualitative components of physical, activity, and cognitive flexibility, and evaluate their impact on the residential complex scale. The primary goal of this research is to utilize the components of physical form to cultivate a sense of attachment to a place and subsequently enhance the quality of residential spaces. The research methodology employed is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-analytical in terms of method, based on a survey. With a statistical population size determining the sample as 50. According to the correlation matrix data, all relationships between flexibility components and belonging have become statistically significant, except for the relationships between flexibility and functional/activity, as well as emotional/perceptual variables and belonging, which are not statistically significant. The results revealed that the emotional/perceptual components of belonging received the highest average score of 52.12.
