Abstract :
The trawl method uses a large funnel-shaped fishing net that catches 85% of the fish and causes serious damage to the marine ecosystem. Environmental protection is carried out by supporting the protection and improvement of the environment and preventing and preventing any type of pollution and destructive actions that disrupt the balance and harmony of the environment. The protection of various animal species, including aquatic animals, is an example of environmental protection. The purpose of this research is to examine and analyze the legal foundations of trawling in domestic and international law. The descriptive research method and the library data collection method were used to conduct the research. The results showed that although there is a large volume of international and regional laws and regulations in the field of protecting marine species, their overfishing continues, which indicates the lack of sufficient support from governments for such documents and their lack of full implementation. Accordingly, it is necessary for governments to make every effort to exploit and preserve marine living resources responsibly.
