The Effectiveness of short-term intensive psychodynamic therapy on reducing Checking and Cleaning in women with obsessive compulsive disorder

Abstract :
The purpose of this research was the effectiveness of short-term intensive psychodynamic therapy on reducing revision and washing in women with obsessive-compulsive disorder. The statistical population consisted of women suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder who referred to Vafur Counseling Center in Tehran in 1402 and in order to select a sample, 30 people were selected and screened through interviews using a non-random-voluntary sampling method and randomly in Two experimental and control groups were assigned. The research method was a semi-experimental design with a pre-test, post-test with a control group with follow-up (2 months) and for the experimental group, 20 one-hour sessions of short-term dynamic psychotherapy were conducted. Data were collected with the help of Maudsley Obsessive-Obsessive Scale. Research data were analyzed using mixed analysis of variance. Research data were analyzed using mixed analysis of variance. The findings showed that short-term intensive dynamic psychotherapy is effective in reducing rumination and washing in women with obsessive-compulsive disorder, and it was able to reduce the symptoms of this disorder at a favorable level after the passage of time. As a result, Intensive short-term dynamic psychotherapy can reduce obsessive-compulsive symptoms by influencing defenses through active coping and by addressing past trauma and identifying thoughts.
