Abstract :
The first Pahlavi period was accompanied by fundamental changes influenced by Western countries. These changes also affected the architecture of that period, and were shaped by the majority of Romantic ideas. The architecture of schools, which was also undergoing changes, was built in a new way according to the government's tendencies to modernize the country. The aim of the research is to identify the conceptual patterns of Romantic architecture that have influenced the educational buildings of the first Pahlavi period. In this research, two research methods have been used in a mixed manner; the method of the part related to recognizing the historical context of the Romantic movement is of the historical-interpretive type, and the part related to the architectural issues of educational buildings is of the descriptive-analytical type. The findings indicate that the conceptual patterns of Romantic architecture, with two subjective and objective components, have influenced the facades of educational buildings of this period. The subcomponents of traditional materials for proximity to the past and direct connection between the interior and exterior spaces, the use of light reflection in space by increasing visual clarity, the use of organic forms and curved lines, mythical motifs in decorations and the personal experiences of architects, the design of space by creating contrasts and cultural and historical symbols, and the presentation of the building with a combination of modern and traditional elements, respectively, have had the greatest impact on these patterns.
