Abstract :
The present study aims to investigate the impact of a self-compassion-based educational program on frustration tolerance and pain self-efficacy in women with migraine. To this end, a quasi-experimental pre-test/post-test design with a control group and follow-up period was developed. The statistical population of this study consisted of women who are currently diagnosed with migraine based on their medical records and have visited treatment centers in the past year. Among these individuals, 30 women who met the inclusion criteria were selected voluntarily through a convenient sampling method and were randomly assigned to an experimental group and a control group, with 15 participants in each group. The data collection tools included a self-compassion educational program derived from Gilbert's book on Compassion-Focused Therapy, the Frustration Tolerance Questionnaire by Harrington (2005), and the Pain Self-Efficacy Questionnaire (PSEQ). The results indicate that self-compassion-based education has a positive and significant effect on the dependent variables (frustration tolerance and pain self-efficacy). With a significance level of less than 0.05, the generalizability of the results to the target population can be assured. According to the obtained results, women with migraine who participate in the self-compassion-based educational program will be able to better manage their pain and will have higher self-efficacy in pain management.
