Abstract :
Introduction: In today’s world, enhancing the quality of learning and fostering students’ enthusiasm are among the major concerns of educational systems. One of the modern approaches in this regard is the smartification of schools, which, by utilizing educational technologies, can increase students’ motivation and interest in learning. The purpose of the present study is to examine the role of school smartification in students’ learning enthusiasm, considering the mediating role of achievement motivation.
Methodology: The present study was applied in purpose and descriptive–correlational in design. The statistical population included 15,000 students in Mahmoudabad during the 2023–2024 academic year, from which 280 students were selected through stratified random sampling based on Morgan’s table. Data were collected using the Smart School Questionnaire by Shavirdi (2013), the Learning Enthusiasm Questionnaire by Asoodeh and Noqabi (2022), and the Achievement Motivation Questionnaire by Helmreich and Spence (1977). Data analysis involved the Kolmogorov–Smirnov test to assess normality, followed by path analysis and regression using SPSS26 and SmartPLS3 at a significance level of 0.05.
Findings: The results indicated that school smartification has a direct and significant effect on students’ learning enthusiasm (path coefficient = 0.245). Moreover, the findings showed that school smartification, through the enhancement of achievement motivation, has an indirect and significant effect on learning enthusiasm (path coefficient = 2.430). Comparing the two models revealed that achievement motivation, as a mediator, increases both the intensity and quality of the effect of school smartification on learning enthusiasm.
Conclusion: School smartification, as a modern educational approach, can serve as a foundation for increasing students’ enthusiasm for learning. The results of this study demonstrated that, in addition to its direct effect, achievement motivation plays a crucial role in strengthening this relationship. Therefore, educational managers and policymakers should pay special attention to the development of smart schools while simultaneously providing strategies to enhance students’ achievement motivation. This can lead to improved learning management and higher educational quality.
