Investigating the moderating role of financial technologies on the relationship between financing constraints and corporate liquidity

Abstract :
The rapid growth of financial technologies has had a significant impact on the prosperity of businesses. In fact, studying the relationship between financial technologies and businesses has important theoretical and practical implications. At a time when sanctions and financial and economic restrictions have been imposed on the country, financial technologies can provide unparalleled opportunities for the country's economic growth. On the other hand, companies can fully utilize the benefits of financial technologies to reduce financing constraints and improve their liquidity.In this study, the relationship between financial technologies, financing constraints, and corporate liquidity was examined using data from companies listed on the Tehran Stock Exchange. For this purpose, information related to 141 companies was selected as a statistical sample during the period 2019-2023 using the targeted elimination method. Multiple regression method was used to test the research hypotheses. The results of this study show that financing constraints have a negative impact on the company's liquidity. In fact, the greater the corporate financing constraints, the worse the corporate liquidity situation will be. However, financial technologies have positive impacts and reduce the negative impact of financing constraints on corporate liquidity.
