Abstract :
In recent years, virtual social networks have become one of the most popular communication media in Iran, particularly among the younger generation. This phenomenon has had numerous consequences for Iranian society at various levels. his study sought to investigate the role of virtual social networks in students’ social resilience. The research method used in this study was grounded theory (systematic approach). The research participants were experts in the field of new social media and social resilience, and semi-structured interviews were conducted with 12 of them using purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted in three stages: open, axial, and selective coding. Findings revealed that causal conditions influencing social resilience were virtual consumption and virtual spectacle. Intervening conditions included religiosity and social capital, while contextual conditions encompassed economic resources, political-economic inefficiency, and virtual policymaking. Proposed strategies focused on virtual networking, political-economic development, socio-cultural development, and content production system development. The realization of these strategies will have two positive consequences: social adaptation and hope for the future in students. Ultimately, “fragile hope and resilience in the Networked space” was obtained as the core category of this process.
