Abstract :
Nurses are vital resources for quality medical services and it is necessary to identify their problems and find ways to ensure their continuous employment. The present study was conducted with the aim of investigating the relationship between emotional conflict and criticism in the family with sleep quality in nurses of Imam Ali Hospital in Zahedan. The descriptive research method was correlation type. The statistical population includes all the nurses of Imam Ali Zahedan Hospital (except emergency departments) in 1402, and 100 people from this statistical population were selected as available. The research tools include the questionnaire of emotional conflict and criticism in the family of Shields et al. (1994) and the sleep quality questionnaire of Petersborg (1980). Pearson's correlation coefficient and stepwise regression analysis were used to analyze the data. The results showed that there is a negative and significant relationship between the scales of emotional conflict and criticism in the family with sleep quality (p<0.01), the subscales of criticism in the family and emotional conflict could account for 39.5 and 4.3 percent of the variance, respectively. to explain the quality of nurses' sleep (p<0.01). Therefore, according to the conditions of the nurses' workplace and the stress caused by caring for patients, the management of optimal relationships in the family and sleep management play a significant role.
