Abstract :
The aim of this research was to investigate the factors influencing movement literacy and health among athletes with disabilities and veterans in Iran. This study follows a qualitative, interpretive paradigm, using a grounded theory approach and latent content analysis tactic. Data collection was conducted through in-depth interviews with 17 academic and experiential experts in the fields of movement literacy and health. The sampling method was purposive, and the interviews continued until theoretical saturation was reached. The data obtained from the interviews were in the form of audio and text, and their analysis was performed using MAXQDA software, version 18. Initially, primary concepts were extracted through open coding of the interviews. Then, through axial coding, the identified concepts were categorized into various themes, and finally, through selective coding, the factors influencing movement literacy and health among athletes with disabilities and veterans in Iran were designed into a model. The findings of this study indicate that improving the movement literacy and health of athletes with disabilities and veterans requires attention to personal, interpersonal, and sociological factors. To enhance their quality of life and athletic performance, comprehensive programs tailored to their needs should be developed. These programs may include continuous education, increased access to sports facilities and equipment, strengthening social support, and promoting a positive culture towards athletes with disabilities and veterans. By addressing these factors, the movement literacy and health of this group can be improved, giving them the opportunity for more active participation in the sports community.
