Abstract :
The present study was conducted with the aim of presenting factors affecting the prevention of drug use in the villages of Arzuiyeh County, Kerman. This study used a mixed method (qualitative and quantitative). In the qualitative part, the grounded theory method was used to identify and extract factors affecting the prevention of addiction. For this purpose, 20 knowledgeable and expert individuals in the field of addiction prevention were selected purposefully and semi-structured interviews were conducted with them. In the quantitative part, after identifying the key factors, the multiple linear regression method was used to examine the effect of each of these factors on the prevention of addiction in the target community. The results of the study show that, social factors with a coefficient of 0.43 have the greatest effect on the prevention of addiction. After that, economic factors: coefficient of 0.35, individual factors: coefficient of 0.33, family factors: coefficient of 0.32, cultural factors: coefficient of 0.25, environmental factors: coefficient of 0.21, and structural factors: coefficient of 0.15, respectively, are effective in reducing the risks of addiction in the villages of Arzuiyeh. The results of the ANOVA test showed that, the regression model was significantly able to explain the changes in addiction prevention (F=78.24, p=0.001). In addition, all independent variables in the regression model have a significant effect on the dependent variable (addiction prevention) (p-value for all variables is less than 0.05). This study emphasizes the importance of paying attention to various social, economic, family and cultural dimensions in preventing addiction in the villages of Arzuiyeh. The findings also point to the need for comprehensive planning and support policies to strengthen these factors in rural communities.
