Evaluation of suitability of "work and technology" curriculum in the first year of high school from the point of view of administrators, teachers, graduates, and curriculum planners

Abstract :

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the appropriateness of the goals of the "Work and Technology" curriculum guide in the first year of high school from the perspective of administrators, teachers, students, and curriculum planners. This research was done with the method of analysis of studies and Delphi technique with applied purpose. The community includes curriculum experts, managers and teachers in the first year of high school technology in Tehran and the research sample includes 10 curriculum experts, 10 managers and 24 teachers of the first year of high school work and technology. The samples were selected purposefully. The data was collected by sending a researcher-made questionnaire to all 908 people who had opinions and with descriptive statistics, including frequency distribution, percentage, mean and standard deviation, and appropriate methods, and chi-square or chi-square methods were used to check the differences and similarities of the studied opinions. The total chi-square rate resulting from the comparison of the frequencies of four groups of managers, teachers, curriculum specialists and graduates according to the objectives of the "Work and Technology" course curriculum was 28.285, which is statistically significant (p=0.005). Therefore, it can be acknowledged that the objectives of the "Work and Technology" curriculum in the first year of high school are appropriate from the perspective of graduates, teachers, administrators and curriculum specialists. Considering the appropriateness of the curriculum goals of the "Work and Technology" course in the first year of high school from the perspective of graduates, teachers, administrators and curriculum experts, it is necessary to periodically monitor the goals of the curriculum and continue the appropriateness of its contents in order to improve the existing situation
