Abstract :
The aim of the current research was the mediating role of rudeness in the relationship between Islamic work ethics and workplace deviance in sports and youth departments in the east of the country. The research method is a descriptive-correlation type that was conducted in the field. The statistical population was 945 employees of sports and youth departments in the eastern provinces of the country. According to Morgan's table, the sample was 278 people. The research tools included Bennett and Robinson standard workplace deviance questionnaire (2000), Bennett and Robinson standard workplace rudeness questionnaire (2000) and Ali Islamic work ethics standard questionnaire (1992) were used. To ensure the reliability of the questionnaires, 30 copies of it were distributed in the preliminary study on a sample that was completely randomly selected, and Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the deviance questionnaire at work (α = 0.81), rudeness questionnaire at the workplace (0.85) α =) and the Islamic Work Ethics Questionnaire (α = 0.79) was obtained. The results of the research showed that Islamic work ethics has a significant relationship with workplace deviance at α=0.05 level. On the other hand, there was a significant relationship between politeness and deviance in the workplace and Islamic work ethics with employees' rudeness at the α=0.05 level. In addition, impoliteness plays a mediating role in the relationship between Islamic work ethics and workplace deviance in sports and youth departments. It is suggested that the managers in the organization identify the rude behavior of the employees and take appropriate action to reduce the deviant behavior with emphasis on Islamic work ethics.
