Abstract :
The aim of this study was to identify the causal conditions; categories and concepts of the success of Iranian table tennis in international events. The research method was qualitative and based on grounded theory. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews. The statistical population of the study consisted of 23 experts and key specialists in three domains: academic, executive, and sports. The sampling method was non-probabilistic and purposive. For data analysis, open, axial, and selective coding were used. in this research, identifying the causal conditions and concepts of the international success of Iranian table tennis (the axial phenomenon of this study) in international events. The results led to the identification of 50 concepts and 5 categories. Based on the findings, the causal conditions included players, coaches, competitions, equipment-facilities and parents. Therefore, it is recommended that the identified conditions be given greater attention by stakeholders to enhance the success of Iranian table tennis in international events.
