Abstract :

The goal of this study was to explore the relationship between entrepreneurship and the effectiveness of girls' high school principals of Kerman city. It was hypothesized that there was a relationship between aspects of entrepreneurship and effectiveness of the principals. This correlational study was based on a survey of all girls' high school principals (57) in the school year 1385-1386 using two questionnaires designed by the current researchers. The face validity and content validity of the two questionnaires namely "characteristics of entrepreneurship" and "effectiveness" were established on the basis of the available recourses and scholars' views. Reliability of the instruments also was assessed through a pilot test using Alpha Cronbach's' index (α .73). The statistical analysis of the data showed that the hypothesis could not be supported and no relationship was found between the characteristics of entrepreneurship and effectiveness of the principals. This indicated that the effectiveness of the principals can not be predicted on the basis of the characteristics of their entrepreneurship and that development of entrepreneurship currently is not on the agenda of the education organization.
