Abstract :
The overall aim of this research was to find the impact of information and communication technology on rice waste management from the view of rice cultivating women in Sari. The population of the study comprised of 1677 rice cultivating women in Sari of whom 145 women were selected through stratified random sampling. This research was a causal-relation and applied study and SPSS 16 and PLS were applied for data analysis. Cronbach’s alpha was 0.97. The average age range of women in the study was 45.33 years and their relative work experience was 25.59 years. The results showed that information and communication technology abilities and use of information technology had impact on the use of rice waste management operations. It is suggested that in rice waste management, cases such as using herbicides for weed control, using high quality seeds adaptable to the region, transporting by appropriate vehicles, paying attention to rice storing principles in stockrooms such as caring for ventilation and humidity and applying biological fight such as using Trichogramma bees, should be emphasized. Also, information and communication technology tools (such as radio, telephone, TV and mobile) should be used more.
