Abstract :
Post occupancy evaluation has been widely employed to access residential buildings in the world, while little attention has been paid in Iran. Due to the increasing demand for housing in Iran in the last two decades, many efforts have been made to provide it, but what is generally overlooked is the post-occupancy evaluation in residential complexes. Therefore, it is necessary to build, validate, establish and standardize the post-occupancy evaluation scale in Iran to use the results of a continuous assessment tool in residential buildings to continuously improve them. The sample size was 353 people who were selected by random cluster sampling. The statistical methods used in the present study also include item analysis (coefficient and loop method), content validity and structural validity (factor analysis), and validation (calculating Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the whole questionnaire and factors). Validity and reliability assessment by removing the problematic items, 41 items remained in the final research questionnaire and this questionnaire can be employed for post occupancy evaluation in Iran. The research findings indicate that the initial validity and reliability are acceptable for the post-occupancy evaluation scale. In the results of factor analysis, four factors were identified, which are the internal environment, beauty, function, and social. The validity of this questionnaire was obtained by calculating Cronbach's alpha of 0.933. Considering these findings, it can be said that this questionnaire has good validity and reliability, and the factors extracted from factor analysis can evaluate post-occupancy in residential complexes in Iran.
