Abstract :
The majority of daily activities of the residents of the residential complexes are formed in the indoor and outdoor spaces. Increasing the quality of the environment in residential complexes through creating thermal comfort in indoor and outdoor environments is one of the most important issues in meeting residents’ satisfaction. the necessity of considering the components of the environmental quality has caused this study, aimed at investigating and analyzing the impact of indoor and outdoor spaces on the thermal comfort of residential complexes, to try to provide the context of recognition and better design for planners and designers of this field besides studying the current situation. The sample population was extracted and classified based on the stratified sampling method through considering all types of composition of indoor and outdoor spaces of residential complexes in Tehran. It was selected from the dispersed type of Apadana Complex, the strip type of Nevisandegan (meaning authors) Complex, the centralized type of ASP Complex, and the gardened type (complex with yard) of Peykanshahr Complex. The research has a descriptive-analytical, surveying, quasi-experimental simulation method. The data from research samples were obtained by survey method and other data were obtained from written sources as well as documentary studies.. The results of the study on thermal comfort component in the four studied types suggest that the type of indoor and outdoor spaces arrangement, length to width proportions between the blocks, as well as orientation and materials affect the enhancement of the thermal comfort component in indoor and outdoor spaces.
