Abstract :
The study of the historical evolution of urban planning and, consequently, tourism industry planning shows two approaches or the so-called two mega-theories of modernism and postmodernism. Most of the changes and developments are in the field of these two theories and the characteristics of each of them have created a new era. The special cultural and political conditions of our country do not currently encourage and strengthen mass and modern tourism, and tourism statistics confirm this. Meanwhile, the city of Tabriz, as the fifth most populous city in Iran, has been affected by the conditions and policies of the country. Due to the high potential of tourism, this city has always been known as an industrial and commercial city and the tourism sector in this city has been weakened. With these conditions, it can be concluded that the type of mass tourism (modern) in our country does not exist and does not have sufficient conditions for emergence and growth (according to the political and social reasons of the country). Due to its unique cultural, historical and political conditions, it can be very attractive for postmodern tourists. Therefore, in order to attract such tourists, due to the complexity of the concept of postmodern tourism, we need to study and plan in this field. In this regard, the most important the purpose of this study is to study and evaluate the indicators and drivers of this type of tourism. Based on the results, from 49 selected indicators from the perspective of experts, 21 indicators were selected as vital drivers.Among these, the index of holding tourism exhibitions with a total impact score of 1014 has been selected as the most effective index and cultural-religious events with a score of 459 as the 21st index.
